**Marion Body Works CEO Killed in Crash**

A tragic accident claimed the life of James Simpson, president and CEO of Marion Body Works, on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred at the intersection of County Roads E and BB, just south of Gillett in Shawano County.
According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened around 1:35 p.m. when a Chevrolet SUV driven by Alvin Birr, 83, of Suring, collided with a Honda minivan traveling eastbound on County Road E. Simpson, who was a passenger in the minivan, was ejected and later pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the minivan, William Schaefer, 52, of Madison, along with another passenger, were taken to local hospitals. One of them was airlifted via Eagle III helicopter. No further details about their conditions were immediately released.
County Road E and BB are currently part of a detour due to ongoing construction on Highway 22 between Gillett and Oconto Falls. Local residents have noted an increase in traffic through the area, raising concerns about safety.
“I’ve seen a lot of close calls here recently,†said Janell Townsend, a resident along County Road E. “It’s been busier than usual.â€
