Custer Park FPD and Braidwood Fire Department news (more)
June 22 10:17:22, 2025
Hey everyone, just saw this update from the Custer FPD's Facebook page:
The Braidwood FPD is officially kicking off their shift at our station starting tomorrow, October 16th, 2023, at 6 AM. Can you believe how much they’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time? These firefighters, along with their administration and volunteers, have done an incredible job getting everything up and running again after taking over our district. They've given the station a fresh coat of paint both inside and out, updated all the IT infrastructure, installed a brand-new data closet, and thoroughly cleaned and sanitized every inch. Not only that, but they’ve also helped us take stock of the remaining assets while preparing some items for surplus sales. It’s been a tense and chaotic five months, but we’re finally moving forward with our new partners. For the very first time in Custer FPD history, we’ll now have a 24/7 staffed ALS transport ambulance serving our community. How exciting is that? If you get a chance, stop by and say hi to the team—they deserve all the support we can give them. A huge thank you goes out to the Braidwood Fire Protection District for all their hard work and dedication.
Again, thanks to Dennis for sharing this update. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the future holds for our community with this new partnership!
P.S. I’ve heard there might be some small events or meet-and-greets coming up soon, so keep an eye out for those announcements!
