Tianhua Chemical Machinery and Automation Research and Design Institute has successfully designed the first large-scale pressure filter unit in China. It is reported that after the Shanghai Petrochemical Group replaced the original centrifuge and the vacuum filtration unit, it saved about 20,000 yuan in water, steam, electricity and other power costs every day, saving equipment maintenance costs of 2 million yuan each year. In addition, the unit is also suitable for coal, catalysts and other fields.

According to reports, Shanghai Petrochemical Polyester No. 2 Oxidation Unit was built in the early 1980s and is one of the oldest remaining PTA installations in China. It used two-stage high-speed centrifugal units and has higher maintenance costs. In order to meet the energy-saving and consumption-reducing requirements of the company, Tianhua Institute conducted a preliminary theoretical analysis, a mid-term model calculation, and the establishment and amplification of test devices. After two years of efforts, it finally developed a pressure filtration unit for PTA devices.
