Bosch plans to invest US$180 million to expand its factory in South Korea

According to reports, the Bosch Group recently stated that it will invest 200 billion won (approximately 179 million U.S. dollars) to expand its factory in South Korea next year.

Hermann Kaesse, president of Robert Bosch Korea Ltd., said that due to his optimism about the prospects of the Korean automotive industry, the company plans to expand its South Korean plant next year and employ 300 additional staff to develop direct fuel injection technology.

Bosch Group's subsidiaries in South Korea include Robert Bosch Korea Co., Bosch Electrical Drives Co., Bosch Rexroth Korea Ltd., ETAS Korea Co., and joint venture Co., Ltd. Industry Co., Ltd. (Doowon Precision Industry Co.).

Kaesse said that the Bosch Group's business unit in South Korea mainly sells auto parts, industrial equipment, security systems and home appliances. The sales volume of the above-mentioned business unit in Korea in 2011 reached 2.5 trillion won (about 2.25 billion U.S. dollars).
