Dalian is set to host a major auto parts procurement event from September 20 to 22, 2004. The second China Auto Parts Transnational Sourcing Fair's Dalian Special Event, organized by Shanghai International Advertising Exhibition Co., Ltd., will officially begin. This event features a dedicated workshop focused on sourcing auto parts for the U.S.-based TRW Automotive. At the time, TRW’s Asia Pacific procurement director will travel to Dalian with a $2 billion purchasing list, actively seeking suppliers in the Northeast and across China to collaborate in the global auto parts market.
As one of the world’s top 500 companies, TRW recently entered the Chinese mainland market and is eager to find reliable local partners to help expand its supply chain. This collaboration aims to strengthen its presence in the international automotive industry and tap into the growing demand for high-quality auto components.
This event marks the first stop of the Second China Auto Parts Transnational Sourcing Fair, drawing significant attention from industry professionals. The series of procurement activities, which run from September 2004 to March 2005, will include special workshops in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Guangzhou. Global auto parts buyers will visit these cities, either individually or as groups, to explore partnerships with domestic manufacturers.
The climax of this initiative comes in March 2005 with the “China Auto Sourcing 2005†event in Shanghai, where approximately 30 international auto parts buyers are expected to attend. The total purchase volume is projected to reach billions of dollars, highlighting the scale and importance of this initiative.
As a professional platform for auto parts procurement in China, the China Auto Sourcing program has successfully organized large-scale events that connect global buyers with Chinese suppliers. With its unique vision, strong capabilities, and professional services, it is helping to build a more efficient and competitive manufacturing supply chain. This event not only offers valuable opportunities for local businesses but also strengthens China’s role in the global automotive industry.
