Chemical Industry Adds 6 National Occupational Standards

In a recent development, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security has released 54 national occupational standards, including positions such as "caustic soda production workers," "inorganic chemical reaction workers," "dye analysis workers," "dye production workers," "paint synthetic resin workers," and six additional roles like "paint color matching and modulation workers." With this update, the total number of occupational standards in China's chemical industry now reaches 27.
According to official sources, the establishment of these national standards is part of a broader initiative to enhance the development of skilled labor forces. These standards serve as a scientific and standardized reference for vocational education, training programs, and skill assessments. They aim to accurately reflect the current professional level and the requirements expected from employees, while also considering the influence of economic growth, technological advancements, and changes in industrial structures on job roles. The standards clearly define the scope, content, and required skill levels for each occupation.
These occupational standards are designed with a focus on practical professional activities and core competencies. At the same time, they are flexible and adaptable, allowing for updates as technology evolves to meet the changing demands of training, certification, and employment.
It’s worth noting that earlier last year, the Ministry had already issued 21 occupational standards in the chemical industry, such as "compressor operators," "gas purifiers," and "evaporation workers." The newly added six standards were developed under the supervision of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, the Chemical Industry Occupational Skills Certification Center, and were jointly organized by the Tianjin Ouhai Chemical Group, the China Dyestuff Industry Association, and the China Paint Industry Association.
This ongoing effort reflects the government's commitment to aligning workforce skills with industry needs and ensuring that professionals are well-equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving economy.
