The accelerator can determine the degree of vacuum by observing the item reading of the gun and target (in the maintenance mode, the computer gives a few hundred Item values). Under normal circumstances, its indication should be -6.0 or less, that is, -6.2, -63 (6.1 indicates that the degree of vacuum is approximately equal to 107 乇), and so on. When the indication is above -5.0, it means that the vacuum is not good, but sometimes it is a false phenomenon that the ion pump fails. So how do we identify them, I summed up the following experience in the actual handling of this failure: 1 to determine whether the vacuum is damaged with the gun, target ion pump to distinguish the value of the reading.

For example, if one end is below -6.0, and the other end is not normal, the value is very high, such as -3.5. This indicates that the illusion is very likely; if the reading at one end is slightly greater than -6.0, such as -5.9 or -5.8, and the other The reading at one end is slightly smaller than -5.0, such as -5.1 or so, indicating a high vacuum. That is, if a vacuum leaks, either at the gun end or at the target end (the accelerating pipe itself has very little leakage), the ion pump with no leaking end will be affected by the leaking end, and its reading will be slightly higher. If only one of the ion pumps fails and the vacuum does not leak, the normal ion pump will not be affected much.

The temperature method is used to judge: Under normal conditions, the temperature of the ion pump housing is basically the same as the room temperature. If the temperature of the ion pump housing is abnormally high, it indicates that the load is large and there is a leak. If the temperature is too high, turn off the ion pump immediately to prevent further damage to the ion pump and its power source.

Use the interchange method to judge: Reverse the high-voltage output cables of the two ion pump power supplies. If the vacuum indication on the monitor does not change after the alignment, there is no problem with the vacuum and it may monitor the circuit.

Use the partition method to judge: The high-voltage cable of the ion pump at the end of the monitor display is disconnected from the ion pump. At this time, the monitor indicates. If it is still abnormal, it means that vacuum damage is unlikely and it should be a false phenomenon.

2 False phenomenon There are often the following types of ion pump failures, and there is a very large current between the positive and negative electrodes. In this case, tapping the ion pump housing with a mallet, the indication of the vacuum on the monitor will fluctuate. If the temperature of the ion pump housing does not increase at this time, the high voltage cable is unplugged at the end of the ion pump. The indication should return to normal.

Ion pump high-voltage cable leakage or breakdown. Unplug the high-voltage cable vacuum indicator at the end of the ion pump power supply is normal, and re-inserted high-voltage cable at the end of the ion pump is still higher than the normal value, this situation can be used to determine the insulation resistance of the high-voltage cable megger.

Ion pump power is bad. The high-voltage cables of the two ion pump power supplies can be reversed, if there is no change in the vacuum indication on the monitor, indicating that the power supply has a problem.

Ion pump detection circuit problem. The voltmeter can be used to directly measure the vacuum detection circuit output. After the high-voltage cable is unplugged, the absolute value of its voltage should pass through the above method. It is believed that the fault can be identified and the problem can be solved quickly.
