There is often an epidemic after the disaster. At present, the temperature in the earthquake-stricken areas continues to rise, gradually increasing the risk of outbreaks. To this end, the Ministry of Health has organized a batch of disinfectants to be transported to the affected areas. According to Gao Qiang, the Ministry of Health has asked the National Development and Reform Commission to urgently allocate three batches of state reserve materials, including 5,000 bottles of disinfecting drugs for medical and epidemic prevention work in the affected areas. In addition, the medical teams dispatched by provinces and cities to the affected areas to participate in the health rescue also brought a large number of disinfection supplies.
In order to prevent the occurrence of the epidemic in the disaster area, on the 13th and 14th, two batches of anti-epidemic materials organized by the Ministry of Agriculture have been put in place, including 200 tons of disinfectant. At the same time, Shanghai has also sent 20 tons of disinfectants to the disaster area. The China Chlor-Alkali Industry Association also organized 300 tons of bleaching powder (highly effective disinfectant) and is ready to be shipped to the disaster area. The association also convened industry players to provide more disinfectant products to the disaster area.
However, these disinfectant products are far from enough. Gao Qiang said at the press conference: “Health and epidemic prevention is a long-term work process. In the future, we also need a large number of sanitation and disinfection supplies, and a large number of epidemic prevention medicines will be continuously sent to disaster areas. We hope to engage in sanitation, disinfection, and epidemic prevention. The enterprises that produce products will produce more safe, effective, and cheap products to support the disaster area."
In addition, the reporter also learned that in addition to the lack of disinfectants in the disaster area, the helmets and dinghies used for emergency rescue and disaster relief are also seriously inadequate. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a notice yesterday to urgently collect earthquake relief tools and equipment, including 500 rubber boats. From the CCTV broadcast screen and photographs sent back from the disaster areas, it can be seen that many PLA troops and armed police officers and soldiers participating in rescue and relief work did not wear safety helmets. Personnel who went to the disaster area also said that roadworkers are in urgent need of helmets, gloves, hard-soled shoes and other materials.
