Application of SMD Weight Level Meter in Port Dumper

The dumper, also called a railroad truck dumper, is a large-scale port-specific machinery and equipment that efficiently turns over the railway gondola. It is widely used in ports, steel mills, and power plants. The main function of the dumper is to accurately position the train wagon on the platform, and by means of the pressing device and the pressing and leaning of the vehicle device, the bulk material in the wagon is turned into the bottom funnel.

1. Process application point The port dumper has 5 funnels for holding the material. The capacity of each funnel is approximately 60T (excluding the funnel weight). In many cases, the operator's feed must rely on experience and on-site inspection personnel to confirm the funnel's material level, but the dust around the funnel is large, it is sometimes difficult for inspectors to determine the actual level of the funnel, it is easy to cause the coal to overflow the funnel and sprinkle Coal therefore requires a level gauge to be installed on the funnel. However, when the wagons are unloaded, all of the coal is poured out, impacting the silo and generating a large amount of dust. In this case, conventional contact level switches, such as block rotation, RF admittance, etc., cannot withstand such a powerful impact, and non-contact radar and ultrasonic waves cannot work properly.

At this point, a reliable non-contact measurement method is needed, and measurement errors due to dusting must also be avoided.

2. SMD type sensor principle These funnels are supported on the platform by 4 cow legs, and the specifications of the bovine legs are I-beams with a length of about 300 mm. When loading and unloading materials, it will cause tiny deformation of the hopper's legs, and these tiny deformations are proportional to the weight of the load. The patch-type sensor is tightly attached to the bovine leg with a bolt, and the bovine leg becomes a load cell. The patch-type sensor detects the deformation of the bovine leg and converts the deformation into a weight value.

4. System configuration The silo has 4 cow legs, because this case only needs to understand the rough material level in the funnel, so only install the patch sensor on the 2 cow legs. The signal of the patch sensor is sent to the dedicated weight transmitter via the junction box. The product topology is as follows.

5. Implementation of the program We used two Microcell SMD load cells mounted on two of the four cow legs. The installation process is quick and easy. The entire system installation takes only 2 to 3 hours.

Microcell supports continuous production and installation. Sensors can be installed when the silo is not empty, which greatly facilitates the renovation project. The SVS2000 weight transmitter designed specifically for SMD weight level gauges does not clear the calibration function, supports calibration of equipment in the case of material in the bin, and also allows continuous correction of data errors in future use. This feature is particularly suitable for debugging and calibrating equipment in the production gap.

Send the high sensitivity differential pressure signal sent by the two Microcell patch types into the specially designed weight transmitter of Kistler-Morse Company. After filtering, sending, and signal conversion, the signal is output as a 4-20 mA signal, which is connected to the upper position of the customer. Machine system.

6. Conclusion The port uses KM's patch-type weight level gauge system to realize the real-time detection of the dumper hopper level. The operator can observe the actual dynamic material level of the hopper in the upper computer, avoiding too much of the funnel material Sprinkling of coal, or funnel empty bucket is caused by the conveyor belt feeding caused by the transmission belt deviation or blocking material, but also reduces the operating personnel and on-site inspection personnel labor intensity, enhance the stability of the system and improve operational efficiency.
