Application of LoadStand Load Cell in Plastic Raw Material Storage Bin

First, background description
A plastic auxiliary engine project of a medical device manufacturing enterprise in Suzhou has six 100T steel skirt silos on site and stores various types of plastic raw materials. In previous solutions, traditional radars could not accurately measure the material level due to the accumulation angle of solid-state raw materials, and the hopper was fed from the top by pneumatic conveying, and the duration of one-time feeding was several hours. The material process can seriously affect radar measurements. The traditional weighing method has a complicated structure and is difficult to install, and is not suitable for the silo of the structure.
The customer needs a measurement method that is accurate, easy to install and more reliable. The end customer chose KM's LoadStand II large-tonnage load cell solution, which is different from traditional weighing and is more suitable for large-capacity storage silos.

Second, LoadStand II solution
Traditional weighing method Since the sensor is a moving part, careful consideration should be given to the installation location. If the design is improperly installed, the silo can easily overturn. Unlike conventional load cells, KM's LoadStand II is designed for large-capacity silos and is a one-piece structure with no moving parts. The sensor can be considered as a piece of steel structure, without the risk of overturning, the design is simple and convenient, and quick and easy installation is achieved.

Taking into account the system redundancy, four 45T capacity LoadStand II load cells are installed at the bottom of the 100T silo. The signals are sent to the display controller using the sensor serial method and the signals are output to the host computer system through the display controller.

Third, the conclusion
The system has been put into use, the system accuracy has reached 1/1000, to meet the technical needs of customers. For the raw material storage silo, the LoadStand II solution has high comprehensive accuracy, simple and reliable structure, convenient installation and convenient maintenance. Can be easily applied to new projects, equipment transformation. It can be used as material level measurement, especially solid material level measurement under harsh environment is a better choice.
