·2015 graduation season survey: the new pattern of automotive talent demand changes

At the end of July, the school recruit is coming to an end. In the case of slowing industry growth, is the employment of automotive graduates affected? Which automotive majors are popular in the workplace? Under the wave of "Internet" and "Made in China 2025", what new choices do graduates face? With these questions, the reporter visited several colleges and vocational colleges that set up automotive majors and launched a one-month graduation season survey.
Under the new normal, the car is no longer a traditional industry. Although it has gone through the rapid development of gold for 10 years, its deep integration with the Internet and finance industries has given it a new vitality. All of this has profoundly affected the graduates who have just left the campus. With the continuous extension of the automobile industry chain and the increasingly deep cross-border integration, automotive talents not only refer to the professionals of the engine or chassis, but also the industry's desire for Internet, e-commerce, finance and other talents is more urgent.
■ The automobile industry has a high demand for high-level talents. Recently, the reporter learned from the car companies that the number of school recruits has decreased slightly this year. The colleges and universities also said that they may be affected by the shrinking capacity of car companies. This year’s car graduates encountered “small years”. ". In fact, as early as September last year, at the beginning of the 2015 school recruitment, many auto companies admitted that the number of college recruits has decreased this year.
Fan Wenhui, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology, told reporters: "If you count the number of people who continue to study at home or abroad, the employment rate of undergraduates this year is not much different from that of previous years." Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) Automotive Engineering Yue Cailing, deputy secretary of the party committee of the college, also said in an interview: "In recent years, the employment rate of auto majors has been relatively stable, but the employment pressure has increased significantly. Among them, among the auto graduates, the proportion of continuing to pursue further studies has been nearly two years. A sharp rise, this aspect shows that good counterpart work is not easy to find, on the other hand, reflecting the new normal, the domestic automotive industry is increasingly demanding high-level talents, which reflects the rising domestic manufacturing level."
Yan Jianlai, deputy secretary-general of the China Automotive Engineering Society, said in an interview that in the future, auto companies need elite talents. One of the manifestations of this demand is that car companies are increasingly eager for returnees. Therefore, more students choose to study abroad and go to Germany, where the automobile manufacturing industry is more developed, to improve their abilities, and hope to have a better career path after returning home.
According to the reporter, vocational colleges are also facing the same situation. In an interview with reporters, Zhao Qingwei, director of the Automotive Engineering Department of the Beijing Transportation Vocational College, said that the number of students recruited by auto companies this year has declined for the first time in recent years. The number of companies hired by the school last year was about 900, and this year is expected to be 700-750. Of course, because the graduates of the school are only about 450 people, the automotive professional talents are still in short supply. According to him, this is a common phenomenon in other major vocational colleges.
â–  "Internet" forced auto-teaching reshuffle. Recently, the China Automobile Dealers Association issued a car dealer inventory warning index of 64.6% in June, up 7.3% from the previous month and up 5.7% from the same period last year. This is also the continuous inventory warning index. 9 months super early warning line. This year, industry experts have also published a statement similar to the "4S shop model will die", all of which indicate that the car dealers' days are not good this year. The automotive vocational colleges are directed at 4S shops to train and transport talents.
Although the employment of automotive vocational colleges has not been affected this year, Zhao Qingwei pointed out that dealers are facing a transition and upgrading. In the next three to five years, automotive vocational colleges will surely usher in a major reshuffle. "For example, under the impact of e-commerce, automotive marketing related courses should also be closer to network marketing; for example, with the development of smart cars, traditional auto repair majors will also face deep adjustment."
In addition, in the future automobile 4S shop, there may be a variety of brands in the same store sales situation, which is the current "order class" in the field of automotive vocational education (that is, a car brand and vocational colleges cooperate to cultivate order-type talents). It will be a very big challenge. This requires not only vocational colleges to actively adjust the talent training program according to the development of the industry, but also requires the reconstruction of the talent training system.
Although the "Internet" has only recently become a social hot word, it has deeply affected the graduates of the automotive industry. According to Zhao Qingwei, more than a dozen of the students who graduated from the school entered the Boao car (a car company that provides car door-to-door maintenance services). Zhao Qingwei is somewhat worried that these students will face even greater challenges. Different from the traditional 4S shop mode, the door-to-door service requires technicians to have a variety of comprehensive capabilities such as on-site communication, on-site service and on-site settlement. In the future, these capabilities need to be included in the teaching scope of vocational colleges.
However, Zhao Qingwei is full of confidence in the development of the automotive industry. Although the impact of the "Internet" will have a profound impact on the automotive vocational education system, there are also opportunities for development in the challenges and difficulties. With the deep integration of the Internet and the automotive industry, automotive vocational education talents will also have a broader scope of employment, but the premise is that the automotive vocational colleges respond positively and timely cultivate the composite automobile talents under the “Internet” wave.
â–  A large wave of auto entrepreneurs are approaching the recent report of the 2015 Graduates' Employment Research Report published by Zhilian Recruitment. Among the 2015 graduates who participated in the survey, the proportion of employment after graduation was 71.2%, compared with 2014. The 76.3% decline, while the proportion of students choosing to start a business increased from 3.2% in 2014 to 6.3%. This shows that under the influence of the entrepreneurial upsurge of the whole society, the entrepreneurial craze of college students has begun to rise, as has the students of automotive majors.
Fan Wenhui pays attention to the employment data of auto-related graduates for many years. He found that the number of students choosing to start a business is increasing, which is closely related to the country's continuous promotion of college students' entrepreneurial preferential policies. Although the auto industry is bidding farewell to high-speed growth, the auto industry is still a hot spot for entrepreneurship due to its huge industrial chain and broad development space. “For example, seven Southeast University graduates have started a partnership and developed the first smart car camera called iEyelf, which has won the favor of many venture capital firms.”
In addition, because the addition of the Internet has lowered the threshold of the automotive aftermarket, many automotive technology talents have also chosen to start a business. It is understood that last year, two post-90s students who graduated from Wuhan Vocational and Technical College also embarked on the road of entrepreneurship - providing door-to-door car wash service. After more than a year of development, they are about to usher in the first physical store. In order to comply with the trend, the Beijing Jiaotong Vocational College, where Qi Qingwei is located, will also launch an entrepreneurial project to provide automatic transmission oil replacement in the near future.
Experts pointed out that perhaps in the eyes of traditional car companies, these entrepreneurial students have not yet reached the heat, but the industry still can not ignore this Qingquan, after all, in the Internet era, any change and subversion can happen.
