The Schaeffler Group has specially developed rolling bearings for bearing support in refrigerator compressors, which have made important contributions to improving energy efficiency. FAG thrust ball bearings are particularly suitable for bearing support of eccentric shafts of refrigerator compressors. It replaces the sliding bearings normally used in this installation position in refrigerator compressors and reduces the overall compressor energy consumption by 5%. By using such energy-efficient bearings, the compressor's rated energy efficiency is improved by one grade.

There are various cages and bearing thrust collars

Four different types of FAG thrust ball bearings can be freely combined. There are two kinds of rings with raceways and no races. The cage can be made of plastic or stamped steel. All materials meet the environmental requirements. They are very compatible with the freezing fluid and are resistant to different temperatures.

Narrow high-rigid stamped steel cages are a special highlight. The cage is even more suitable than conventional plastic cages used in this bearing location because of the higher temperatures there. In addition, no refrigeration fluid matching test is required. The raceway of the thrust collar provides the ball with safer guidance and better load distribution, which reduces wear and extends service life. There is also a double sided raceway design that improves installation safety.

In the basic design, thrust bearing rings are stamped, hardened and polished and both sides can be used as raceways. According to the installation position, special size bearings can be customized.
