Volkswagen Group's world's first direct injection turbocharged gasoline engine was born

The world's first new turbocharged direct injection gasoline engine was recently introduced. The 2.01FSI engine is suitable for many models manufactured by the Volkswagen Group: Audi A3, A4, A6 and Golf GTI. The engine has been rated "Engine of the Year" by 56 journalists from 26 countries.

The machine stratifies the fuel during the direct injection of the engine. The fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber through the nozzle under high pressure. Like the optional air circulation, FSI also helps to achieve the optimal air-fuel ratio. Combined with turbocharging, FSI features high performance and low fuel consumption.

MANN+HUMMEL offers a technically complex intake manifold for this new engine and an activated carbon filtration system. It not only integrates the intake manifold, but also introduces activated carbon filtration systems, gasoline injection and throttle. In the combustion chamber, it also provides a descending piston that optimizes the flow of air for the optional air circulation system. An electrically driven lever system effectively controls each vortex in each cylinder, and the damper is cast on the steel shaft injector to control the airflow in the combustion chamber to ensure that the air-fuel ratio is optimal.
