However, the original design and manufacturing of the equipment had some flaws, particularly with the bearing system. These defects often led to frequent bearing failures, which in turn damaged the pump shaft and gearbox, causing operational disruptions and affecting daily production efficiency. To tackle this challenge, technicians from Xiamenmen Oilfield conducted detailed observations and identified that the root cause was improper sealing of the bearing cover, leading to lubricant leakage. They then carried out a successful retrofit by redesigning and machining the bearing end cap. This improvement ensured stable and continuous operation of the pumps. As a result, the oilfield saved approximately 500,000 yuan annually in pump-related costs. This initiative not only enhanced equipment reliability but also demonstrated the value of proactive maintenance and innovative problem-solving in the field.
