In 2010, the Chinese machine tool industry achieved good results, but heavy-duty machine tools showed a significant year-on-year decline. According to data provided by the China Machine Tool Industry Association Heavy Machine Tool Branch, in the first three quarters of 2010, the gross industrial output value of the heavy machine tool industry actually completed 5.373 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 12.52%; sales revenue actually completed 4.403 billion yuan, a year-on-year decline of 7.35%. The total profit was 396 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 10.65%; the value of export delivery was 2.02 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 8.8%; the cumulative order volume was 10.192 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 9.1%.

China National Machine Tool Industry Association, Heavy Machinery Branch Secretary-General Analyst believes that this is mainly because the heavy-duty machine tool industry has been better affected by the crisis than the other small industries in the machine tool industry. After the financial crisis, it was the first time to go out of the shadows and accumulated a higher base.
