Early Saturday morning, November 23rd, firefighters from Chicago’s 6th Battalion were called to a house fire on S. Oakley at around 6:00 AM. Upon arrival, the blaze was already well underway in the back of the building. Firefighters and police officers reported that someone was trapped inside, but heavy smoke made it impossible to enter immediately. After a tense and difficult search, a victim was found and rushed out of the house. Unfortunately, the individual later succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
