Recently, Weichai Power Co. , Ltd. , which is known for producing diesel engines for commercial vehicles and construction machinery, has announced that it will enter the light vehicle market and launch the “Yingzhi” brand. It is reported that through the acquisition of Chongqing Jialing Chuanjiang Automobile, Weichai has obtained the qualification for production of passenger vehicles.

Weichai is famous for products and technologies such as engines , gears, and hydraulic systems. According to Weichai's plans, the Yingzhi brand will produce urban SUVs, MPVs, high-end pickup trucks, off-road SUVs, and light commercial vehicles. At present, Weichai Group's total brand of passenger cars. With the initial design draft exposure, it has already surfaced two models, namely full-size pickups and multi-functional SUVs. “In three years, the first products of Weichai Yingzhi will be several models of urban SUVs, high-end pickup trucks, MPVs, and off-road SUVs,” said Ye Qing, general manager of light vehicles at Weichai Power Co., Ltd. “This year is a small SUV. In 2015, it is a MPV. In 2016, it is a pickup. We will introduce products at this pace.” Du Bin, vice president of the Weichai Automotive Technology Directors Institute, added. It is reported that Yingzhi's first urban SUV model will be available in March this year and is expected to sell for 60,000 - 90,000 yuan, which will be produced at the Chongqing base.
