Orders for Italian textile machinery stabilized in the first quarter of this year

For Italian textile machinery, 2012 began in a more stable manner than the previous year. In fact, in the first quarter of this year, orders rose by 2% from the first quarter of 2011. According to a joint survey conducted by the Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (ACIMIT), the total order index for January-March 2012 increased year-on-year. 2%, reaching 91.2 points.

However, orders in Italy's internal and foreign markets still show different trends. In the Italian market, the index increased by 34% year-on-year. In foreign markets, the index fell by 1%.

Sandro, President of the Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association. Salman Ilayji said: “The results of the first quarter surprised us. In the Italian market, orders continued to grow for the second quarter. This shows that there are still companies investing in new continuations and new systems. This is for us throughout Italy. For the textile and apparel production chain, it is a boost of confidence."

Despite a record increase in the domestic market, exports are still the main driver of the textile machinery sector. Therefore, the total order index in foreign markets still shows a slow decline, but it is very slight.
