The data released by the Korea Machinery Industry Promotion Association on the 4th showed that from January to July of this year, Korea’s export of ordinary machinery was 28.8 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 10%. Among them, the export performance of machine tools, metal molds, chemical machinery and other products was good, which led to the overall export growth.

According to Korean media, South Korea’s export of ordinary machinery increased by 26.9% in 2011. This compares with a slowdown in growth from January to July this year. Some analysts believe that the reason for the slowdown in the export growth of Korean general machinery is that the European debt crisis continues to ferment, the global economic downside risks increase, and the demand for mechanical products in the international market is insufficient.
