Continental Group has announced that in order to meet the demand for business growth, the Continental Group plans to recruit 5,000 new employees in China by the end of this year. By then, its number of employees in China will reach 20,000.

In a statement, the Continental Group stated that in order to support business growth in China, it will recruit new employees and new employees will work on engineering manufacturing, production, and functional positions.

Continental currently has 18 production bases and 10 R&D centers in China. The number of employees has exceeded 16,000. In 2009, the group had fewer than 9,000 employees in China.

In 2011, the Continental Group made a series of investments in China, including the opening of the Jinan Commercial Vehicle Electronic Product Manufacturing Plant and the first Chinese factory of the Continental Horse Brand Tire in Hefei and the expansion of the Wuhu Factory.

This year, the Continental Group’s Changchun Automotive Electronics Plant and Hefei two-wheeled tire plant will be put into use, and ContiTech will also establish a new R&D center in Changshu.
