According to the Daily Herald:

A fire that started in the attic of a home in Carol Stream left the property completely uninhabitable, officials reported.

Firefighters were called to 601 Nez Percé Court just after midnight on Friday, as per the Carol Stream Fire Protection District. The blaze quickly spread, causing severe damage to the structure.

The homeowners are now facing a long road to recovery, with no immediate estimate on when they might be able to return.
