On Friday, May 12, 2017, firefighters from Wheeling responded to a fire at a detached garage located at 1460 Anthony Road. Upon arrival, the first units found the two-car garage fully engulfed in flames. The situation was severe enough to upgrade the alarm to a Code 4, which brought additional resources from nearby stations in Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, and Long Grove.
The fire completely destroyed the garage and one of the vehicles inside. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the intense heat caused some minor damage to the exterior of the adjacent home. Firefighters worked diligently to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.
Multiple photos from the scene were taken by Larry Shapiro, capturing the intensity of the fire and the efforts of the responding crews. These images show firefighters working with hose lines, as well as a Rosenbauer America Commander Cobra tower ladder on site. You can view more photos on Shapirophotography.net.
