Injection Molding Machine Control System Technical Standards Review Meeting Held in Ningbo

A recent evaluation meeting on technical standards for computer control systems in injection molding machines and a session for gathering industry feedback were held in Ningbo. At the event, Qian Yaoen, Secretary-General of the China Plastics Machinery Industry Association, stressed the importance of raising corporate awareness of standardization and enhancing the global competitiveness of China’s injection molding machines.
Qian highlighted that China is the world's largest producer of injection molding machines, with nearly 100,000 units manufactured annually and sales reaching nearly 20 billion yuan. Of this, over 1 billion U.S. dollars worth of machines are exported each year. However, despite the scale of production, there is currently no unified industry standard for the computer control systems—often referred to as the "brain" of these machines.
He pointed out that the plastics machinery sector is entering a new phase of development, making standardization efforts more critical than ever. Companies must take a proactive approach by strengthening their commitment to standardization, adopting a market-driven and enterprise-centered mindset, and actively engaging in the creation, revision, and implementation of industry standards.
Qian encouraged businesses to strive for the development of Chinese standards that are widely recognized both domestically and internationally. By promoting China’s presses on the global stage and participating in international standardization initiatives, the industry can further boost its competitive edge and contribute to the sustained and healthy growth of the sector.
