Pump Overview

The 2BEA series water ring vacuum pumps are single-stage, single-acting units designed to handle gases that contain no solids or are only slightly soluble in the working liquid. These pumps are widely used in industrial applications where a reliable and efficient vacuum system is required.

If the wetted parts of the pump are made from or coated with corrosion-resistant materials, the pump can also be used to handle corrosive gases or use corrosive liquids as the working fluid, making it highly versatile for various environments.

Figure 1 illustrates the working principle of this vacuum pump.

The impeller is installed eccentrically within the nearly circular casing. As the impeller rotates in the direction shown in Figure 1, the liquid is thrown outward by centrifugal force, forming a liquid ring. This creates a crescent-shaped chamber between the impeller hub and the inner surface of the liquid ring. As the impeller moves from point "A" to "B," the chamber area expands, creating a vacuum that draws gas in through the inlet port. When the impeller moves from point "C" to "A," the chamber area decreases, compressing the gas. Once the pressure reaches or exceeds the external pressure, the gas is discharged through the outlet port.
