Installation Instructions:
1. Wiring the Pump
Connect a longer cable to the pump (cable size must be at least 1.5mm²). Use the parts from the cable connector kit (heat-shrink tube and tape) to connect a longer supply wire to the pump. If you don't have a heat gun, the barrel of your soldering iron will work or you can use a butane torch, but do so carefully to avoid melting the insulation or causing a fire. Strip the insulation back as shown in the diagram.
A. Lay out the components needed to make the connection.
B. Place the large diameter heat-shrink over the main cable and the smaller pieces over the individual wires. Keep the heat-shrink away from the joints while soldering, as any heat transfer may cause premature shrinking.
C. Slide the small heat-shrink over the soldered joints and use a heat gun or alternative heat source to shrink it over the wires.
D. Wrap the tape over the sealed joints.
E. Finally, slide the large diameter heat-shrink over the completed joint and shrink it into place.
Before wiring the controller box, place the pump in water to allow it to go through the required pre-conditioning. Do not put the pump in its final position until you have tested it, unless it's easy to see and remove.
